Towards an ecological era of capital? Conditions, problems and dilemmas of sustainability in the face of the socio-environmental emergency of the 21st century
Keywords:
Capitalism; environmental crisis; nature; sustainability.Synopsis
The book seeks to contribute to studies on sustainable development options both within the historical framework of capitalist development, but, above all, allowing to establish bridges of communication with perspectives, proposals and strategies that point towards its historical overcoming as a mode of social reproduction. The coordinators consider that, in order to advance towards horizons and contexts of greater socio-environmental justice, it is essential to transcend the conventional paradigms in which most scholars of the ecological question find themselves, escaping from the hegemonic imaginaries associated with institutionalized sustainability and the civilizational tyranny present in the 2030 Agenda. It seeks to contribute to the development of a new vein or perspective to guide research on the conditions, issues and dilemmas currently facing sustainability. This approach is situated in the historical context of the socio-environmental emergency that defines the transition from the twentieth to the twenty-first century.
