Synopsis

In this chapter, Ecovillages are analyzed as an example of communities that build sustainability and a Culture of Peace; the role of the Ecovillages is highlighted as a human and integral settlement where the members carry out their activities in a harmonious way with the natural environment in which they are, respecting their environment and promoting healthy forms of sustainable development, which constitute an alternative that contributes to the construction of a culture of peace, strengthening family, social and community ties. This chapter is made up of three parts, a brief Introduction to the subject, Development related to the human being as a social being, the background of ecovillages, ecovillages as builders of sustainability, ecovillages as builders of a culture of peace and conflict resolution in ecovillages, to finally determine the most important conclusions of this work.
